Lennon & McCartney-Common Misconceptions

(# 1) Paul McCartney wrote the music, John Lennon wrote the text.

This was very rarely the case. "In my life" was probably (although there's some contradiction on this) melody of Paul and texts by John. And certainly sometimes John would add ideas lyrics of songs of Paul (such as "it couldn't get much worse" to "Getting Better") and Paul would add musical ideas of songs of John (constantly awesome Bass parts of Paul are the clearest examples.) But in General Paul and John has written both music and lyrics for your songs.

(# 2)John Lennon Beatles, the rest of the guys were just his backup band.

As someone who really loves the Beatles, this misconception particular really annoys me. I think it's not surprising given the tragic end to the life of John that this idea completely baseless grew after his death, but that still has to be corrected.

The fact is that by the counts more reasonable McCartney was important for the Beatles music only as was Lennon. in many ways, was even more important (McCartney was easily the most skilled musician of the band and most knowledgable about advanced theories of musical composition).

Many of the most famous songs of the Beatles McCartney of including "Hey Jude," "Let It Be, Eleanor Rigby" "yesterday," "Get Back," "when I'm 64," "," Yellow Submarine "," & "Back In The USSR."

(# 3)Lennon was the Beatle avante-garde ", others" played safe. "

While "I Am The Walrus", "Strawberry Fields Forever," & "# 9 Revolution" (and "what's the new Mary Jane?" on Anthology 3) make the case for this idea rather strongly one should bear in mind that was actually McCartney, who was most in music avante-garde originally (his "Carnival of Light" has been registered before 9 Revolution "#", but has never been released).

McCartney was also that carried the tape loops for "Tomorrow Never Knows" and that was a huge part of what gave that song is unique sound.

One should also consider that it was Paul who wrote "Helter Skelter", which definitely has pushed the envelope for "heavy music".

Abbey Road: Lennon and McCartney. Track by track the distribution of the last Beatles album that answers the question of who has contributed over it; John or Paul?

The Beatles white album. find out who (John or Paul?) has written songs plus the double album The Beatles 1968.
