The Beatles Hey Jude strikes a chord 30 years after

Most people are not familiar with the history of the origin of the Beatles Hey Jude. John Lennon, prior to his relationship with Yoko Ono, had married to Cynthia Lennon. After meeting and having an affair with Yoko, John and Cynthia has divorced. Their son, Julian, was only 5 years, at the time, and Paul McCartney was concerned with how he would be able to deal with sudden separation. Being close to the family, went to visit the mother and the son of a couple of weeks after divorce became final, and on the road we started to compose a song that he thought he could comfort Julian. Originally titled ' Jules ne ', the song touched Cynthia, who was surprised by how McCartney cared for their well-being. Young Julian never made the connection that was originally ' Jules ' ' Jude ' and not discover that the Beatles Hey Jude was written for him almost 20 years later.

Curiously, John Lennon thought that the song was actually written to comfort him! He heard a similarity between the trade name of Judah and its own name and under the circumstances, who found himself in that period of time, asked McCartney if indeed had to be on him. McCartney, protection of Giuliano and Cynthia, said simply to John who sang about himself.

' Hey Jude ' was one of the most unlikely Beatles hits, due to the fact that it was quite long. In 1968, the year that the song was released, radio is not accustomed to playing songs that lasted more than 3 minutes. Due to a gradient style very, very long time, the Beatles Hey Jude lasted more than 7 minutes. Initially by listening to the record, some critics at the time felt that McCartney had written the song as a satire of using fadeouts at the end of a song, but it really wasn't the case. The outro included an orchestra of 36 and painstakingly was registered in accordance with the instructions of McCartney.

The first release on new records of Beatles-owned by Apple, ' Hey Jude ' spent 2 weeks at number 1 in the United Kingdom but managed an astonishing Kingdom of 9 weeks atop the American charts. ' Hey Jude ' held the distinction of being the longest number 1 unique in English until 1993, when it was usurped by Meat Loaf and its rebirth of epic rock.
