Among my friends on MySpace are four sons of Bob Marley, a son of John Lennon and a daughter of Nat King Cole. What is becoming clear to me is that neither of these rich, rich of talented children and will never "legends" as their fathers, no matter how hard they work and how desperately wanting to make your name. They will always be hovering just above the sea of mediocrity despite being judged every step from the fame of their father. Dad will always be hanging like a sweet scent to remind them of their position. Right in the entire history of legends, children seem able to bask in their glory and assigns a path clear your success as a succession of Royal birth. But they don't seem able to improve on the contribution of the father or replace them in their success. And I think that knowing what could be kept some of them.
Bob Marley had 13 children, all of them share a huge inheritance from their father that grows inexorably each year, with an average of $ 7 million per year, with him, being the most famous reggae artist on Earth. The children enjoyed the music studio where they can do anything ever since they were teenagers. The result is that four have emerged as real talents: Damian Marley (that is likened unto his father and is affectionately called ' Junior Gong '), with his style pop Stephen, democracy, KY-mani and Ziggy, music Crown all different in their musical rendition and all eagerly competitors wear Marley. Damian certainly looks like his father, but is Ziggy that sounds like him.
Too Close for comfort
Ziggy is the oldest with a voice cracked and should have eclipsed its centuries of brothers ago. However, while he has a solid fan base, one can sense that he is not regarded exciting as others, as he is not mentioned as often. Alas, Ziggy Marley might not realize this, but he suffers from the same problem as Julian Lennon-both sounds too much like their fathers and create some dissonance in conflict in their listeners. Both listen to them sing and you get goosepimples their voices heard. But the public who do not like much. Is too close for comfort without giving the original article.
In reality, the public has an ambivalent attitude towards these children. Would give something Marley or Lennon back and secretly hope that the offspring may continue to provide in the same vein. But when oblige, they maybe sound too much like dad, which confuses the audience and irritates them instead. The end result is that their dad wasn't so legendary, their voices would make its impact. But how can we best Bob Marley or John Lennon voice and style? It is impossible, it is better to build your own style, which Damiano and KY-mani, in particular, seem to have managed to do. Yet, in true form competitive, children will always imitate or beat their parents and those famous are even more.
As a King, Bob Marley has left a great legacy to her children. They are like gods and principles for supporters who, mainly through the magical name of Marley. However, are more difficult to fight for their place in the world of music most mortals minor. While their money can give them most of what they want, the name of Marley will only carry them so far before discovering that a millstone could be for them. After all, is given a head start by their father, they will never be sure if they would have made it without that famous name. All Marleys have their own little dynasties, each competition only now fiercely for that elusive musical legacy. But the Crown of Marley final will never be them because the impact of their father is too strong. Just look at MySpace and it is clear, by the choices of members, that boys are not really competing against each other. In reality are competing against their father, who is still very much in the running. No contest there. In essence we love children and are fascinated by them, they represent a part of the old, but is the dad that we really want and, worse, we use to judge their actions.
Basking in the Shadows
Natasha Cole is no different. No matter how talented you, just like Nancy Sinatra, they will always be hanging behind their famous fathers, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. Being too women, they are expected to almost to remain in the background, basking in the shadow of Dad, true success be perpetually elusive for them. Never should measure up. Unlike Julian Lennon and the guys at Marley, are perceived differently. Are women, are good, but that's it. Are they shouldn't exceed their fathers. Their aspirations and talent, I have never seen to be in competition with their dad at all, even though the legacy he assured them some success.
The trouble with all those brothers and their dad legendary was that children shouldn't really make something spectacular, because their fathers have already achieved immortality.
The curse of legendary father becoming a prophecy, inevitably ensures that there is only a legend from each family. Everyone who follows, no matter how great their talent, it will always only short of perfection and delivered the footnotes of history.
